San Sebastian is our town, our roots and our distinctive mark.

And yes, San Sebastian is a small town, but it has lots of charm! Take it from us... Also, this is the best month to visit it.

San Sebastian and September. September and San Sebastian. It's hard to explain, but there is a special connection between them. You can still go to the beach and swim, enjoy the last days of summer sun and the beautiful colours of the sky at sunset... Or the cold summer nights, for which you will always need that new jacket that you will not want to take off.

September is also the month of the San Sebastian Film Festival, an event that creates a special atmosphere in town and as locals we absolutely love it. The more films we can see, the better! And if we squeeze in a dinner with the girls, the plan couldn't be more perfect... This long dress, for example, is ideal if you end the night at one of their parties.

But, if you prefer a quieter plan and you like to ride a bike, rent one and explore San Sebastian far and wide. Its beaches, the Paseo Nuevo, the river... Get lost! Without fear, you will locate quickly and you will see that it has been worth it.

If you like the sea, stand up paddle boarding in La Concha and reaching Santa Clara Island is sure worth a go. If you are one for strong emotions, try surfing! It's addictive. In this case, your beach is La Zurriola.

Reach the peak of Mount Igeldo. And if it can be, take the cable car. The view of the city is spectacular, and you can feel like a child again... at your own vintage attraction park!

As for food tips... we have loads!

BREAKFAST. Book a table at the Hotel María Cristina. It's something you have to do at least once in your lifetime...

BRUNCH. Sweet or savoury? We alternate. Sakona and La Madame are our favourites.

ONE PINTXO (Tapa). It is difficult to choose. So, we'll suggest some of the best ones:

Borda Berri. Risotto with Idiazabal cheese.

Txepetxa. It has the best anchovies!

Paco Bueno. A classic. The gabardina prawns are delicious!

A fuego negro. If you like modern and different, this is your place. For example, we love its mini kobe beef burgers!

Bergara. It's in Gros, but it's won lots of awards. Txalupa, Itxaso, Udaberri… That's Boat, Sea, Springtime in English. ;)

La Viña. Among all the savoury favourites, this is our choice to end the tapas tour on a sweet note: a delicious cheesecake. Amazing!

THE BEST PLACE TO EAT or HAVE DINNER. Just one? Impossible! These are our favourites:

Bodega Donostiarra. Top quality ingredients. It's good, healthy and the prices are great.

Nestor. If you like meat, don't miss the chops. And remember to have the tomato and green Guernica peppers salad on the side.

Topa. We love the combination and so do they. A Basque - Latin American restaurant with a great atmosphere, interesting stories and, above all, excellent food from both sides of the Ocean. A great experience both, at and around the table. It's part of the Andoni Luis Aduriz (Mugaritz) restaurant group.

Sirimiri and Atari. One of the most popular places in town to eat or drink something.

A DRINK. GU, a place in the wonderful building of the Nautical to enjoy the Bay of La Concha and be able to have a photo postcard, that although sometimes we renege, always makes illusion.

We are waiting for you!
