Summer is coming and it shows :) so exciting! That’s why we’ve asked Nuria of @isla_et_nomade to show us around Mallorca and let us in on her favourite island spots:

Mallorca has so many plans on offer for both the urbanite and those looking for nature and disconnection.

When we moved to the island, we moved to a small apartment in the old town of Palma, wandering around with no destination became one of our favourite activities.

Late breakfasts in Café Riutort or Mama Carmen, getting lost in the neighbourhood around Santa Eulalia square or enjoying street music and sipping a wine at L´Antiquari...

Now in our new home in the Sierra de Tramuntana, still not losing touch with the city, we spend time disconnected and enjoying the powerful natural and rural environment that the island has on offer, so although we usually improvise picnics by the sea like at Port des Canonge or Cala Déia we also love getting lost in the picturesque towns of the Sierra…breakfast in Re Organic in Sóller, lunch at Es Taller Valldemossa or a coffee at Sa Fonda Déia are a few of our favourites.

A great way to discover more authentic and unspoilt places is to do one of the islands numerous walks, especially the coastal ones if we’re looking for turquoise water and places where the green of the mountain mixes with the sea.

Another of our passions are the grocers and local shops like the bakers and the greengrocers, Rustic Binissalem, Colmado Sant Jaume in Palma or the organic market in Plaza Patines in the middle of the city, also the weekly flea markets, our unmissable trip for all kinds of antique furniture, traditional fabrics from the island like drap and all sorts of historical objects in our Sunday trail at Consell, it’s wonderful!

We adore living on the island, we feel like there is everything we need and we’re happy here but there’s still a lot to discover…And that’s the best bit, the most exciting, to discover, live and enjoy it!
