What inspires you in life? The daily life, the things that we don’t to notice anymore. We don’t really pay attention to the things we are used to see all the time and for me, that’s where great stories begin.

What does writing mean to you? It means living twice, understanding the world better and how we exist in this world. We live life live, there are no useful drafts, writing gives me the right distance to understand better and think about what is happening.

Is it easy to be a woman in this world? I’ve never felt otherwise.

Your happy place. Any bar where there’s a good conversation, crisps and a glass of white wine.

A place, a plan and a restaurant indispensable in Barcelona. The Gràcia neighbourhood, where I live, going to the Verdi cinema to see a film and going out at 10pm to Viblioteca for a cheeseboard and a good wine.

Are you more a beach or a pool person? Beach. Even if I always write about pools.

Who was your icon? I’m not much of a mythomaniac so I don’t really feel like I’ve ever had an icon. But it’s definitely true that some writers like Joan Didion, when I discovered them, influenced my thoughts and my writing a lot.

A book, a song and a movie.
Book: It’s hard to choose one, but Pitch Dark by Renata Adler was an unforgettable book for me. Especially this sentence: “Accidentally, might I have thrown the most important thing away?”
Song: Anything by Bon Iver, Re: Stacks for example. Or Northern Sky by Nick Drake.
Película: Manchester by the Sea. It’s a melodrama but I was very impressed by the delicate way the recounted pain.

What about series? The last one I really enjoyed was The Morning Show. I’m watching Olive Kitteridge at the moment.

What are your wardrobe essentials? The most basic: some comfy jeans and grey t-shirts.

Something that never goes missing in your handbag? A book.

In your fridge there’s always… Avocados.

Do you give us a tip to take care of our planet? Shop local and avoid plastic.

A dream to achieve. I’m not sure if it’s a dream but I would love to learn Sanskrit.

What are you doing with the rest of your day? Finish a couple of articles that I have stacked up and this evening, since it’s Friday, I am going to the cinema to see Quo Vadis, Aida?
